An Analysis of the Cultural Value Contained in the Thai Folk Story "Four Burmese Gui Trees"<br>Yin Jingjuan<br>(School of South and Southeast Asian Languages and Culture, Yunnan University for Nationalities, Kunming, Yunnan, 650500)<br>abstract<br>The Four Burmese Gui, also known as the "Sticky Basil Dun" or "Four Zhan Ba", is widely circulated among the Dai, Thai, and Lao people. It is not only widely spread orally among the people, but also recorded in many ancient books. Folk stories, due to their oral transmission characteristics, are easy to spread among people and be accepted by different groups of people. Therefore, they have become an important carrier for the expression of thoughts and emotions among the ancestors of the Thai ethnic group. Exploring the cultural value contained in folk stories is of great significance for us to better understand the history and culture of relevant ethnic groups. The story of "Four Burmese Gui Trees" in Thailand contains rich cultural values.
