Marie Curie, Madame Curie, is a French scientist of Polish origin. She and her husband, Pierre Curie, were early researchers of radioactivity, discovering the radioactive elements po and radon, and they shared the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics with the French physicist Henry Becquerel. After that, Madame Curie continued to study the chemical and medical applications of radon, and won the 1911 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for separating pure metal palladium.
