This paper proposes a multi-core tapered optical fiber ultrasonic sensor for seismic physical model imaging, and tests its performance. The sensor is manufactured by a flame-cone method, and the manufacturing process is simple and low in cost. Encapsulate the sensor on a polyurethane rod, change the previous measurement method of the cone sensor, and realize the point measurement of the cone sensor. Four-core fiber and seven-core fiber are used to make sensors with cone diameters of 11 μm, 22 μm, and 29 μm, respectively. Since the test experiment is carried out underwater, when the diameter of the cone is too small, the spectrum of the sensor will change greatly during the process of entering the water. In this paper, a multi-core optical fiber ultrasonic sensor with a cone diameter of 22 μm is used to test the response of the four-core tapered optical fiber ultrasonic sensor and the seven-core tapered optical fiber ultrasonic sensor to ultrasonic under the same experimental conditions.
