High school chemistry "material structure and nature" is an elective module in high school, because its content is abstract, theoretical, difficult to understand, and students' learning is difficult [1]. In the past, many schools did not list it as an elective course, but studied the "Organic Chemistry Foundation" module. However, because in the college entrance examination, this part of the content proposition regularity is strong, easier to score than "Organic Chemistry Foundation", less time to answer questions, get many candidates' favor. In recent years, more and more schools in Guangxi have included the material structure and nature in the compulsory courses, and attach great importance to it. The purpose of this study is to understand the calculation of the number of particles, the calculation of the density of crystal cells and the calculation of the distance between particles in the calculation of crystal cell in the material structure and properties, and to understand the reasons for the loss of scores. On this basis, suggestions are put forward for teachers' teaching and students' learning.<br>In this study, the survey method is used to obtain the required data, and the statistical analysis method is used to process and analyze the data. In addition, the literature method is used to find out the relevant research of crystal cell calculation, and the optimal solution is obtained.<br>From the results of the study, the chemical normal school students still have a good grasp of the calculation of the number of particles and the density of crystal cells, but there are still some problems; the grasp of the calculation of the distance between particles is not optimistic. The main problems are as follows: first, the ability of space imagination is deficient, and the knowledge of solid geometry is not well mastered. Second, there is no memorization of the basic formula of cell calculation. Third, units are ignored in the process of calculation and judgment, and the order of magnitude between unit conversions cannot be remembered.<br>
